INTRODUCTION

 

1.1       About The Hand-Book

This Hand-Book provides first hand information to the general public about Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training, (PSBTE & IT) for admission, examination of various diploma level courses run by its affiliated institutes and examinations of ITI & Art and Craft courses.

 

1.2       Object/ purpose of this Hand-Book.

To make aware the general public about the working of The Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training

 

1.3       Who are the intended users of this Hand-Book?

The main users of this Hand-Book shall be the public and students of the affiliated institutes.

 

1.4       Organization of the information in this Hand-Book.

The detail of the organization of the information in this Hand-Book is available in the form of index at the beginning of this Hand Book.

 

1.5      Definitions

          The following definitions are commonly used in the Hand-Book.

(a)   “affiliated institution” means an institution affiliated to the Board respect of any course or courses of study in accordance with the provisions of this Act or the rules or the regulations made there under;

(b)   “All India Council for Technical Education” means the All India Council for Technical Education as Set up by the Government of India;

(c)   “Board” means the Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training established under section 3;

(d)   “Chairman” means the Chairman of Board ;

(e)   “Certificate” means a certificate awarded by the Board in respect of any course or courses of study in accordance with the provisions of this Act or the rules or the regulations made there under;

(f)     “Committee” means a committee constituted by the Board under section 19;

(g)   “diploma”  means a diploma awarded to a person for successfully completing, in an affiliated institution such courses of study as may from time to time be specified by regulations;

(h)   “Government” means the Government of the State of Punjab, in the Department of Technical Education and Industrial Training;

(i)    “industrial training” means a training imparted to students in an institution of industrial training;

(j)    “institution” means an institution imparting technical education or industrial training or both;

(k)   “member” means a member of the Board and includes the Chairman and Secretary thereof ;

(l)    “prescribed” means prescribed by rules made under this Act;

(m)   “regulation’’ means a regulation made by the Board under this Act ;

(n)   “rule” means a rule made by the Government under this Act;

(o)   “Secretary’’ means Secretary of the Board;

(p)   “section” means a section of this Act;

(q)   “State” means the State of Punjab
